The Island Manor House is located in the heart Chincoteague Island... a unique area of vibrant colors, old-fashioned hospitality, friendly natives, and a quieter way of life awaits your arrival. Assateague Island, separated from Chincoteague Island by only a sliver of waterway, is an endlessly fascinating region with miles of unspoiled coastline and thousands of acres of wetlands that is habitat for home to hundreds of species of wild animals, migratory birds and other wildlife, including the famous Chincoteague wild ponies. The pristine Assateague Island National Seashore has been preserved in its natural state.
The 1848 Island Manor House is essentially comprised of two houses joined together by a common sunroom and open patio courtyard. There is a total of seven comfortable guest rooms, each with a private bath. There is also a room used by the masseuse for professional massages.
The first level houses the parlor, the living room, the sunroom
(Garden Room), the dining room, the kitchen, and the spacious innkeeper’s quarters.
The second level has five guest rooms plus an innkeeper’s bedroom. The third level has two guest rooms and three large rooms used for storage.
The Inn has been in operation since 1882. Average occupancy the last three years is 38.38%, with an average daily rate of $151.53.
The property of @.50 acres is beautifully landscaped and provides ample off-street parking for the innkeepers and guests. Visitors to the inn can walk to many of the shops, galleries, and restaurants. For the more adventurous guests, it is an easy bike ride to Assateague Island and the National Wildlife Refuge and the beach.
